Christy Ward, to Serve on CPCA Board
Ms. Ward will serve as one of 30 voting directors who make up the Board of Directors. Members of the board are elected by the organization’s members-at-large during election proceedings held each October during the annual conference, which just occurred. Her current term is for one year and will end in October of 2019 but may provide an opportunity to serve for a longer term in future elections. The Board of Directors meets quarterly and jointly oversees the activities of CPCA, including the work from various committees that report to the board.
Ward said, “It is a great honor to be able to serve this year on the CPCA board and I look forward to bringing the voice of our patients, staff and our community to the discussions and decisions we make that will impact community health centers across California State.”
CPCA organization was formed in 1994 and has become the statewide leader and recognized voice representing the interests of California community health centers and their patients. CPCA represents more than 1,300 not-for-profit Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Regional Clinic Associations across the state of California, who provide comprehensive, quality health care services, particularly for low-income, uninsured and underserved Californians, who might otherwise not have access to health care.
