Headaches Don’t Have to be a Pain
Almost everyone has had a headache. A headache is the most common form of pain. It’s a major reason people miss days of work or school or visit the doctor.
Here are tips to deal with a headache:
- Try an over-the-counter (OTC) medication like aspirin or acetaminophen for occasional mild to moderate headaches.
- Check out acupuncture. Recent studies suggest that acupuncture can help with tension headaches.
- Keep a food diary. For some people, certain food or drinks might trigger a headache.
- Relaxation techniques can help relieve tense muscles.
Not all headaches need a doctor’s attention. But you should let your health care provider know if you have sudden or severe headaches.
