One Community Health is excited to welcome Dr. W. Suzanne Eidson-Ton, MD, MS, FAAFP as the organization’s new Chief Health Officer. Dr. Eidson-Ton officially joined the team in mid-March, bringing with her more than two decades of leadership in family medicine, public health, and community-based healthcare.
A Sacramento-area resident and full-spectrum family physician, Dr. Eidson-Ton provides comprehensive primary care—from pediatrics to geriatrics—including prenatal and obstetric care. She is known for her lifelong commitment to health equity, workforce development, and ensuring culturally and linguistically appropriate care for all patients.
Dr. Eidson-Ton’s professional journey includes earning a Master of Science from UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health, a medical degree from UCSF, and completing a rigorous combined Family Medicine and Obstetrics residency at UC Davis Health. Over nearly 20 years at UC Davis, she held multiple leadership roles, including Clinical Professor, Director of the Family Medicine/Obstetrics Residency Program, Director of the Rural PRIME Program for medical students, and leader of a Central Valley and Northern Californian network of family medicine residency programs.
Most recently, she served as Chief Medical Officer at CommuniCare Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Yolo County. There, she led through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, supported a strategic merger with OLE Health, and successfully oversaw the implementation of a new electronic health record system (OCHIN/EPIC).

In her new role as Chief Health Officer, Dr. Eidson-Ton will lead the organization’s clinical services, oversee quality and performance improvement initiatives, and help drive strategic planning and provider engagement.
