MAB Center Open at One Community Health
CA Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) reached out to One Community Health to help them establish a monoclonal antibody (MAB) infusion center in Sacramento, specifically in the Midtown area. Being a site for the MAB infusion center means individuals who have an active COVID-19 infection and who are at high risk for serious illness will come to our Midtown campus for treatment.
Monoclonal antibodies (MAB) are laboratory-made proteins that mimic the immune system’s ability to fight off harmful pathogens such as viruses, like SARS-CoV-2. If you recently tested positive for COVID-19 and are at high risk from illness monoclonal antibody therapy could help reduce your symptoms and keep you out of the hospital. Not all patients are eligible to receive MAB for the treatment of COVID-19. Treatment eligibility consists of several factors such as age, time since onset of symptoms and positive test, and other risk factors that increases a likelihood of severe COVID-19. The EMSA staff will outreach and schedule patients.
The infusion center opened to patients this March. We are honored to be able to collaborate with EMSA to bring this important COVID-19 treatment to our community. For more information on the MAB Center at One Community Health call 916-914-6272.
