Child Wellness Visits Can Prevent Missed Lead Screenings
It may be difficult to know for sure if your child has been exposed to lead from paint, water, or other sources in your neighborhood.
“We routinely screen children [for lead] as part of our child wellness checks at 1 year and 2 years of age. Doing what’s best for our patients also means we complete testing of any child up to age 6 that doesn’t have a recorded test and any children who have recently immigrated to the USA, ” said Tamara Todd, MD FAAP, Pediatrician at One Community Health.
Child wellness visits are easy ways for parents to be sure they get the tests they need to keep them healthy as they grow.
