Do our patients need a referral to get an eye exam?
No, they can call and make an appointment on their own.

Does a patient need to have visual issues to be seen by an optician?
No. It is recommended that all patients have an eye exam each year, regardless of them having any visual challenges.
How often should patient’s get an eye exam?
It is recommended that every patient be seen by an optician at least annually. Patients are not restricted in the number of times that they can be seen by the optician’s in clinic each year.
Adult minimum guidelines for eye exams are:
18-40 Years At least every 2 years (at risk annually or as recommended)
40-64 Years At least every 2 years (at risk annually or as recommended)
65 and older Annually (at risk annually or as recommend)
What are the hours for the eye exams and for the optical shop?
Optical services and the optical shop are available from 8:30 pm-5 pm Monday through Friday at the Midtown clinic. Closed for lunch from 12 pm-1 pm daily (12 pm-2 pm on Wednesdays).
Where is all this located?
The eye exams are performed in the medical area in Building B in the Midtown Campus. The Optical Shop is on the first floor of Building B, outside of the Pharmacy. Patients do not need an appointment and can drop in.
How much does an eye exam cost?
Like all of our services, patients will be able to use a sliding fee for the exam. Medi-cal coverage includes eye exams. For those under 18, glasses are free.
How much do the glasses cost?
Single vision is $40. Bifocals are $50. Progressive lenses are $150. All prices include frames and lens’. There are additional features that a person may want, such as scratch resistant coating, that come at an additional cost.
