Standing in Solidarity: Supporting Our Trans & Non-binary Community

At One Community Health, we proudly stand as one of the largest providers of care for transgender and non-binary individuals, serving over 700 patients within this vibrant community. Our commitment to offering culturally adept services and compassionate care is unwavering.

Recent events have highlighted the continued violence and discrimination faced by the trans and non-binary community. The recent tragedy among Nex Benedict serves as a stark reminder that their struggle is not abstract; it is a daily battle against prejudice and discrimination.

As healthcare professionals dedicated to your well-being, it is our responsibility to ensure that our support extends beyond mere physical care. Our empathy, understanding, and support match the high standards we uphold in our medical expertise. We want you to know that we are here for you, no matter what challenges you may face.

We must never lose sight of our role as advocates for our patients, regardless of their identity or the obstacles they face. Our healthcare institution should embody an environment of complete acceptance, empathy, and understanding. Through our actions, we can establish a new standard in gender healthcare provision. We want you to know that we are here for you, and it’s our responsibility to educate ourselves and provide the support you deserve, rather than placing the burden of training on you.

We want you to be aware of the resources available to you. At One Community Health, we have a dedicated Behavioral Health Clinician who serves our trans and non-binary patients, ensuring culturally and trauma-informed practices. Additionally, we have expanded our capacity to assist patients new and existing with increased staff availability to provide support. We also have a Gender Health Navigator available to assist in connecting patients with support services.

For further information or assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Gender Health Program at 916-461-2790 or visit our webpage on Gender Affirming Medical Care Sacramento | One Community Health

Together, let us continue to stand in solidarity with our trans and non-binary community, offering unwavering support and compassionate care.
